Frequency converter

The frequency converters for the REOVIB MFS series of vibratory conveyor technology permit optimum vibration frequency for all conveyed goods in any application

Optimum vibration frequency for conveyed goods

Any desired drive frequencies for the vibratory conveyor that are within the device frequency ranges may be set.
The devices function using digital technology and are operated via an LED or an LCD display and buttons. All settings can be carried out from outside, without the housing having to be opened up.

Using technology that has been patented by REO, it is possible, using an appropriate acceleration sensor, to carry out an automatic search and tracking of the resonance frequency of the vibratory conveyor system using the frequency inverters of the REOVIB MFS 168 and REOVIB MFS 268 series. Therefore, the time-consuming mechanical setting of the vibration frequencies can be omitted.

Variable and future-proof

The designs of the devices start with printed circuit board designs for integration in their own housings or switch boxes, via control cabinet devices for mounting rails or mounting plates, to self-sufficient housing designs in protection classes from IP54 to IP65. Via control inputs and outputs, individual devices can be linked to form systems that operate complete feed stations. Connections with higher-level control systems can be made via analog signals or via fieldbus connections such as Profibus, CAN bus, EtherCAT or EtherNet / IP and ProfiNet can be implemented. Many versions are also optionally available with UL-/CSA-Zertifizierung available.

PRODUCT LAUNCH REOVIB MFS 368

REO AG again sets the benchmark with the product launch of the REOVIB MFS 368 series of controllers

REO is launching the world’s most advanced vibratory feeder control system in early 2020, the REOVIB MFS 368. Having a compact design, it combines a wide range of applications with a wide range of security mechanisms and interfaces.

“During the development of the REOVIB MFS 368 we maintained close contact with our customers and partners in order to meet future requirements within the field of Industry 4.0 today. Thanks to the cooperation of our developers at REO and the technicians of the REO Digital Connect 4.0, a startup of REO, which deals exclusively with digitisation and device communication with regard to Industry 4.0, completely new approaches were taken,” concludes Mr. Jörg Rohden, board member and Head of Product Development. “The result is the most state-of-the-art and future-proof control system for vibratory conveyor technology on the market.”

New generation of vibratory conveyor technology

REO frequency converters

REOVIB MFS 368

More technology in the same form – this is the motto of the new REOVIB MFS 368. The new devices consume up to 45% less electricity. This means that they do not only offer a better energy footprint, but also lower operating costs. This has been achieved by reactive power compensation. The lower power consumption is more eco-friendly thanks to the reduction in CO² emissions. The new converter has an integrated active network filter, saving on additional costs for an external network filter and reducing power consumption. It also has an LCD display which shows full text.

REOVIB MFS 268 (HP)

Frequency converters in the REOVIB MFS 268 seriesfor vibratory conveyor technology offer the option ofoperating the vibratory conveyor at an optimal vibrationfrequency for the material – with a wide input voltage range of 110 V to 230 V -completely independently of the frequency of the electrical mains supply. It is moreover possible, thanks to the system patented by REO, to determine the resonant frequency of the vibratory system automatically and to regulate the vibration amplitude to constant values.

REOVIB MFS 158/168

Frequency converters in the REOVIB MFS 158 andREOVIB MFS 168 series for vibratory conveyor technology offer the option of operating the vibratory conveyor at an optimal vibration frequency for the material – completely independently of the mains input frequency. It is also possible with REOVIB MFS 168, thanks to the system patented by REO, to determine the resonant frequency of the vibratory system automatically and to regulate the vibration amplitude accordingly. In addition, various sensor and valve logic links can be programmed.
